Guthrie County State Bank, with locations in Guthrie Center and Panora, IA is seeking a new team member for the position of Universal Banker. We are seeking applicants who are self-starters, who thrive on building customer and colleague relationships and who enjoy living and working in a small community with access to the amenities of an urban area.

We are an independently and locally owned, highly secure organization with $120 million in assets and have served Guthrie County and the surrounding area since 1931. Our Panora location was built and opened in 1998 and we moved across the street to our new state-of-the-art location in Guthrie Center in 2016. We offer a wide range of services and products with offerings comparable to those of larger financial institutions. The Universal Banker will work with customers to evaluate their needs to offer and educate about the appropriate financial products and services available. Responsibilities also include customer transactions, identifying referral opportunities and expanding existing customer relationships through promoting and cross-selling other bank products and services. This position reports to the Executive Vice-President and Cashier.

The Universal Banker will excel at providing courteous and personal attention to customers and prospects, and be able to work cooperatively in a team setting. This position must be able to listen carefully to complex customer issues and communicate solutions effectively while building strong relationships. Proficient use of the core operating system and Microsoft Office Suite as well as internet-based solutions is required. To qualify for this position, you need a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 to 3 years of experience in the financial industry, bank operations, and/or sales. Knowledge of bank accounting, operations and regulatory guidelines is helpful but not required.
