Getting to Know Drew
Our Guthrie Center location became a brighter place with the addition of Drew Taylor this year! Drew joined us earlier this year as Credit Analyst, bringing extensive knowledge from his time studying Business at Buena Vista University, where he completed double concentrations in Finance and Management as well as a minor in Accounting. His passion for Business Administration and a deep appreciation for community led him to GCSB, where he’s already been known to say, “I love the people that I work with and the sense of pride that comes with helping the community that is shown daily throughout the bank.”
Building a Career in Banking
While studying at Buena Vista University, Drew set his sights on banking. He knew he wanted a career where his financial skills and people-first mindset could make a difference, and shared that for him, “finding a place that is as welcoming as GCSB has been the best opportunity possible.”
Life Beyond the Office
Sports have always played a big role in Drew’s life. A former baseball player, he now spends much of his free time on the golf course, enjoying the game as both a challenge and a way to connect with friends and family. In the fall, he also heads outdoors to hunt geese, ducks, and deer.
Drew calls Guthrie Center home, and his family means a great deal to him. He is the son of Connie and Jason Taylor and has an identical twin, Evan. The two attended Buena Vista together and even played on the same baseball team during their college years.
A Few Fun Facts
Not many people know that along with being a loyal Hawkeye fan, Drew also roots for the Chicago Bears. He enjoys time at the lake and on the water, and says his favorite way to unwind after a long day is playing a quick 9 or 18 holes of golf.
When it comes to movies, he gravitates toward both action and comedy—naming The Beekeeper and The Other Guys as a couple of his favorites.
