Ever since our founding in 1931, Guthrie County State Bank has combined personal service with the latest in technology to make it easier, safer and more convenient for customers to manage their finances. We continue that tradition in the 21st century with a suite of high-tech products and services.
Company History
In 1931, the Bank started with three employees. There are 23 current employees as of April 2021.
Milton C. Barnett was elected Assistant Cashier in January 1938, and Cashier in January 1941, a position he held until his death on March 1, 1950.
GCSB launches Well Connected Mobile Banking – convenient and safe access to your accounts right from your mobile phone. We followed up by adding mobile deposit capture in 2015.
As of December 31, 2015, capital was $200,000 with a surplus of $900,000 and undivided profits of over $9,700,000 and reserves of over $950,000. Total capital amounts exceed $11,000,000.
We launched a brand new website and upgraded the mobile banking and online banking platforms for a better customer experience.
GCSB donated $25,000 to Panora Regional Industrial Development (PRIDE) for the purchase of a development lot
GCSB donated $25,000 after a matching campaign to finish out the fundraising for the AC/GC Fitness Center.
