Getting to Know Brandt
Since joining the GCSB Investment Center in 2023, Brandt Gebel has brought passion, curiosity, and a deep commitment to helping clients reach their goals. Though he originally set out to become a history teacher, a chance advisor pairing in college introduced him to the world of finance—and the rest, as he says, is history.
Today, Brandt works with individuals, business owners, and young professionals across Guthrie County to develop strategies that align with their financial aspirations. He values the opportunity to work with people in all stages of life, and it’s that same people-first mindset that makes him such a natural fit for the GCSB team.
Finance with a Personal Touch
What Brandt enjoys most about his role is connecting with clients from all walks of life. Whether he’s helping someone plan for retirement or offering guidance to a new business owner, he brings approachability and a passion for meeting the needs of each client’s unique situation.
Life Outside the Office
Brandt lives in West Des Moines, where he makes the most of his time outside of work. He’s a a self-proclaimed nerd for all things Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones—so don’t be surprised if you catch a themed mug on his desk!
One fun fact about Brandt is: he writes and throws left-handed, but does just about everything else right-handed.
With his lifelong interest in history, we had to ask which historical figure he’d love to have dinner with, and he chose Abraham Lincoln. “I find it fascinating how he navigated the waters of a divided country,” Brandt shared. He also named All Quiet on the Western Front as a favorite book. Other than reading, when it’s time to relax, you’ll probably find him out on the golf course or enjoying a quiet evening playing with his dogs.
